Buy From A Black Woman is a Nonprofit Organization founded by Nikki Porcher to help bring awareness to Black Women business owners and the people who support them. Their mission is to help “educate, empower and inspire Black Women business owners and the people who support them by providing the tools and resources that will allow Black Women business owners to be successful.” Check them out below!
Underscore Avenue is a creative platform founded by Eddie Hayes created to provided a place for creatives throughout the DMV area to gain more opportunities and network with others. Through Underscore Avenue Najah was offered to the opportunity to shoot for Angela Rye on a last minute opening, and has found additional opportunities through them. Models of the Mecca (MOTM) is a modeling organization founded on Howard’s campus with the goal of showcasing the talents Howard has on campus, creating family, and pushing creatives out of their boundaries. After going through a very selective process, Najah was successfully able to join MOTM Class III as the first class to join under MOTM as an officially funded organization by Howard. MOTM has created a family on campus and constantly pushes everyone to go outside of their comfortable creative boundaries. Many projects found on Najah’s place can be traced back to her MOTM projects.
